Since the beginning of our learning, exposure and formation events in 1988, they have two formats: One-week refresher courses or seminars and four-week summer, autumn, spring and winter universities. * Stars refer to summer, autumn spring and winter universities or four-season exposures.

The refreshers are organized one or more times a year and the four-season exposures twice in three years and both these events were exclusively for journalists below 35 years with a few exceptions up to 40.

Refreshers are organized in one city. The four-season exposures are organized in more than one nation covering all the important themes of the host nations: peoples, cultures, history, economy, politics, religions, traditional medicine, meals and beverages, environment, industries, and so on. Both these events organized with the World Institute of Journalism and Communication grant academic credits.

From the beginning of these events, requests have been made repeatedly to open up these successful and greatly informative events for all age groups. Besides more and more employers did not want even their young ones leave for four weeks of learning and formation though the employers were fully aware of the benefits and considered these events the best investments for future.

Therefore the 2008 general assembly decided to combine these events and organize them as "refreshers and exposures"; in one or more cities, places and or nations; more frequently than in the past; with a duration of 7 to 12 days; and for all age groups. The assembly also kept the door open for longer duration events especially for selected groups.
